General Admissions Policies
Tawheed Center of Detroit School is Islamic in its focus. The school welcomes students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, because we believe that such diversity serves to strengthen and enrich the school community both from Islamic stand point and academically.
•Admission of any student to Tawheed Center School is based on the understanding and acceptance of the fact that the school is Islamic in orientation and practice. Parents seeking admission of their children to the school should be genuinely interested in securing an Islamic education for their children. Parents must have a clear understanding of their obligation for financial, moral and prayerful support of the school.
•Candidates for admission to the school are selected on the basis of the following factors: previous School conduct and academic performance, testing, available space in the class, as well as a family’s commitment to educational excellence and to meeting its financial obligations to the school.
Admission Requirements
•Tawheed Center School of Detroit has facilities for teaching average and above-average students who do not have special learning or behavior problems.
•New students are required to take an entrance examination administered by the school. Students in Grades 2-8 are expected not to score more than 6 months below grade level to be admitted to the school. Students entering Kindergarten or Grade 1 must show sufficient readiness to enter that grade. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
•Kindergarten students must be five years of age by December 1st of the same year. Proof of age, physical examination and immunization are required for all students entering Kindergarten.
•First Grade students must be six years of age by December 4th of the same year and must present evidence of successful completion of Kindergarten.
•All new students are on probation for the first two months. Any student who shows special learning, behavior or study habit problems will not be able to continue in the school.

Admission Procedure
Before the Admissions Committee can make a decision on a candidate for admission, the following items must be submitted:
1.Completed ONLINE application
2.Copy of Birth Certificate
3.Copy of Social Security Card
4.Copy of Immunization Record
5.Health Appraisal Form
6.Emergency Contact Form
7.Request for Student Records Form (if transferring from another school)
8.Registration Fee (down payment is due on the first day of school)
Some students may be assessed before placement.
Transfer Students
•Transfer students are accepted at Tawheed Center School of Detroit on a probationary basis for a period of two (2) months. During this period, the student must display an interest in learning and must adhere to all school rules and regulations.
•Families or students planning to transfer from Tawheed Center School should notify the principal and teachers far enough in advance so that sufficient time exists to settle your school account and prepare student records. The transfer of student records will be handled directly through the school office.
Registration
•Registration takes place in early spring of each year. All returning students must pre-register in the spring for the coming year.
•A registration fee is required of each new or re-enrolling student. The registration fee is required at the time of registration. This fee is required to reserve a place for the student in the school and is applied towards tuition for the coming school year. This fee is non-refundable.
•If classroom space permits new students will also be accepted for admission during the first month of school in September and in the first week of the second semester, if classroom space permits.
•New students entering at the second semester must have been enrolled in another school for the first semester at the same grade level.
