Our Principal: Sister Umm Omar Ghazala Khan

Assalamo Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuRespected Tawheed Parents,
Congratulations on the successful completion of the 2021-2022 year!

InshaAllah you receive this letter in the strongest of Iman and best of health, Aameen. It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed principal of Tawheed Center of Detroit School. I feel truly honored to join the Tawheed family again. I have been a part of the Tawheed community for almost twenty years. Two of my three sons attended Tawheed when they were in the elementary grades. My professional experiences in the private sector of education influenced my decision to connect with my roots, and ensure that a school that is on the Quran and Sunnah must excel and grow in the right direction. I graduated from Wayne State University with a Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement to teach Language Arts K-8 grade students. Five years ago I completed a Master’s Degree in Education and received an endorsement in Technology Integration K-12 from University of Michigan.
I began my professional career of teaching and administration in Michigan at Tawheed and then, ten years ago, moved on to Crescent Academy International in Canton. Subsequently, I have contributed to the Crescent community in multiple ways. I have been an integration coach, a creative arts teacher, and literacy week and literacy night coordinator along with being a language arts teacher in the middle school. Furthermore, I have had the honor of being a part of an External Review Team with AdvancEd, an organization that accredits schools all over the world. While away from Tawheed, I also worked at the MCWS Sunday School as an assistant principal. I feel well equipped to InshaAllah guide our school on the road to success and growth.
I live in Canton with my husband and four children. I have three sons and a daughter. My daughter has been attending Tawheed since Preschool and she will be in seventh grade next year InshaAllah. I enjoy painting and teaching it too.
I have an open door policy, so please feel free to email me with any questions and concerns. Enjoy a relaxing and productive summer.

Wassalaam,
